Elder Care and Gaurdianships
As individuals age, they often need help. That help may come in the form of loved ones offering support or may need to be found through hired agencies and professionals.
If an individual does not detail out their intentions, in legal documents, early enough, there may come a time when they are no longer legally competent to do so. While this situation can be stressful and heart wrenching, the legal system has created a way in which you can help rectify it. If your loved one can no longer care for themselves, and their legal paperwork to allow someone else to help them is not complete, you can petition the court to become your loved one's legal guardian.
If you have a loved one who can no longer care for themselves or function independently, and believe they need help making medical and financial decisions, but they do not have Powers of Attorneys executed, you may be able to petition the court for guardianship. David is experienced in this area of law and can help you through the entire process.
In some situations, your loved one may need help caring for themselves or paying their bills, but you cannot take on that role by yourself. David is equipped to take on the role of Financial Power of Attorney or Gaurdian, himself. David works as a team with other professionals who specialize in elder care and who he trusts, to ensure your loved one gets the necessary care. Given the personal nature of this work, David keeps a very small case load in this area of only 2-3 individuals so he can be sure to serve his clients in the best way possible.
